Abstract:

The circumstances governing the international system and global power structure are indicative of the spread of insecurity and crisis at varying local to international scales. As much as the development of pervasive and far-reaching crises has created challenges for the international security systems and requires the need for rearrangement of and transition from security ambiguities, it has similarly added to the importance of adopting efficient strategies and updating the national security policymaking structure of countries. “ Erosion” as an ancient and efficient strategy adopted by different countries during wars, crisis control, and change in power balance is rooted in history, and has been used by weak or strong sides of various conflicts as a strategic initiative while incorporating efficient and economical mechanisms. Despite the wide applications of this strategy in national security policymaking, there is no formulated theoretical framework outlining its deep knowledge and effective use at the strategic, operational and tactical levels. The existing literature on erosion is of historical and descriptive nature and does not embody a theoretical framework. For this reason, the present study aims to provide a theoretical framework for the strategy of erosion in national security policymaking through review of theoretical literature and tapping scientific knowledge available in the fields of strategic management and strategic policymaking as well as scientific and historical information on the erosion strategy. The present study was carried out with a qualitative approach and by utilizing an analytical-descriptive method. Information was gathered on a library basis, and a deep qualitative analysis method was adopted for information analysis.

Abstract:

National security has long been attended to by experts of political and social sciences such as Wofers (1962), Trager and Simonie (1973), Buzan (2000), Mutimer (1380), and Shohamy (2006). Despite the vastness of language, little has been done to illustrate its role in national security. By presenting some examples, this paper attempts to clarify the effects that language exerts on national security. The paper is a review of experts views and related concepts. The results showed that alanguage plays two types of roles in national security: 1- National integrator and 2- Crisis maker.

Abstract:

during the past few decades, national security plays a central role in the process of economic development. Also, foreign investment and trade have rapidly increased worldwide and have enhanced economic growth in developing countries. Although foreign investment and trade bring huge economic benefits, many developing countries fear that by opening up markets to competition and foreign investment without restriction, they will lose national security. Therefore, the balance between economic gains from foreign investment and trade presents a challenging task for national security. Is national security a necessary mechanism for Persian Gulf countries to promote their economic growth? This article will examine how national security and its relation with foreign investment and trade effect Persian Gulf region’ s economic growth over the 1990-2014 periods. The results show national security has negative effect but its relation with foreign investment and trade has positive effect on the region’ s economic growth.

Abstract:

Ethnicity and nationalism have always been important components of social and political studies which originate from racial differences. Inequality and ethnic diversity is not a threat in itself and if it is considered as a normal thing in a society and also is a corn stone of it, can provide opportunities for social prosperity. National security and political participation and its relationship to ethnic communities are very important. The more the sense of 'self' in ethnic communities the more their political participation and national security will be and vice versa. The process of globalization and the spread of communication transform and complicate the situation and it also has great influence on ethnic feelings and national security of societies. This paper seeks to answer the key question of “what is the role of ethnic inequalities in national security?”. The hypothesis is that, the ethnic inequalities reduce the national security and political participation. Also, social participation of ethnic groups will increase their political understanding, accountability and strengthen their commitment to the government.

Abstract:

Three decades have been passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the formation of a new Russia, and the country is still facing the problems and difficulties caused by that great crisis. One of the most important issues for Russia today is its relationship with the West especially after the Ukraine crisis in 2014, has become a complex issue with no clear prospects for resolving it. In the absence of past ideological foundations and in a comprehensive confrontation with the West, Moscow has reconsidered Russian culture and traditions, and this concept has been seriously addressed in the country's new national security document. The main question in this article is how the concept of culture is reflected in Russia's security strategy? In response to this hypothesis, "culture has emerged in Russia's security strategy as a fundamental category of the three functions of legitimizing ideology, national identity mission, and valuable vulnerable assets. " The research method is "qualitative content analysis of existing documents and data" based on the two variables of culture and security and their indicators and then the analyzes in books, articles, reports, and comments of intellectual, political and security elites.

Abstract:

The main topic of the article is to examine the relationship between national security governance and foreign policy and how they affect each other's formation. To examine this relationship and their influence on each-other, four fundamental questions of national security governance and four missions of foreign policy have been described. The findings of the research show that the political system plays an essential role in the formation of both variables, and within them, national security governance system and foreign policy strengthen and develop each other. They are organized in the form of a spectrum from authoritarian systems to cooperative systems. Each of the political systems to the degree of closeness to the authoritarian or cooperative system form a specific type of national security governance system and foreign policy, which are completely different from each other. Cooperative systems have a broad definition of survival and seek the liberation of human beings, and despite the variety of security threats, they have limited and bottom-up security issues that are formed by persuading citizens. To solve these issues, the government is looking for a transition from “government” to “governance”. Such a system pursues a cooperative foreign policy in the international community and while providing maximum support for the security of citizens, it also pays considerable attention to the security of other human beings.

Abstract:

As an anti-security behavior, bioterrorism is a by-product of globalization threatening the human-being societies, governmental structures and international security. prioritizing the death politics and the discourse of hatred and fear as foundation of bioterrorist behavior led to transition from information to terrorism era in the 21st century. So, the nexus between power-knowledge thanks to the development of biological literatures and technologies turned to bidimensional issue functioning both for medical and political affairs. Such a dialectical professions waxing with the growth of techno-financial, logistic-organizational resources. Thus, the main question of the current paper is to analyze the relation between bioterrorism and security. By focusing on the negative relation between security and bioterrorism, the tentative hypothesis perceives the increasing of one is tantamount to decreasing of the other. So, thoroughly totalizing the institutional chain of medical politics and understanding politics as medicalization is the main suggestion of the current research in which securitization of healthy and medicalization of security will not only increase the societal security but also leading to proliferation of healthy social forces in the international politics. Finally, by employing the analytical method and functioning the conflict management and responsibility to protect, this paper will test the proposed hypothesis.
